Stay in the know! Have a say!
Parents play an important role in student success. Our school council allows parents to participate in discussions that impact student learning. What types of discussions? Here are some examples...
At the school level: staffing changes, learning initiatives (e.g. reading programs), concerns about pedestrian safety, field trip and activity schedules, etc.
At the district or provincial level: plans to build new schools, policies such as busing, school boundaries, etc.
Additionally, the Muriel Martin School Council (MMSC) plans and hosts educational parent workshops and the Staff Appreciation Luncheon.
Parents are invited to bring their ideas to meetings, share feedback, and communicate their concerns. All parents or guardians of students attending Muriel Martin are voting members of School Council, and are welcome to come join us. We meet every month via Google Meets. See the reminders on the Facebook page and the weekly parent planner for details.
